What is a Hydro Powered Car?
What do you think of when you see the term "hydro powered car?" Do you picture the high-tech hydrogen powered cars being developed by companies like BMW? Or do you think of a car that somehow uses water instead of gasoline as fuel? Or perhaps one of those old steam-powered monsters that inventors tinkered with 100 years ago? When I think of a hydro powered car, I think of something slightly different, a cross between an all-hydrogen car and one that somehow uses water as fuel. You can call it a hydrogen-gasoline hybrid. Many people just call it a car that runs on water. The idea of using water directly as fuel is still science fiction. On the face of it, the idea seems absurd. Yet today[..]

South Africans have for many years been burdened with having to get visas for most of the countries we would like to travel to. This has been particularly frustrating for the many young travellers who work in the United Kingdom for a couple of years when they are in the early twenties and want to travel as much as they can. The endless forms, costs and stress that the visa may be denied even after you have paid for your holiday (which is a requirement) is something most of us can do without, especially when travelling in a group and you see how easy and stress free it is for everyone else that is travelling on other passports. Here is a current list of the countries South African[..]
What Are The Real Rainforest Facts?
We all know a few facts about rainforests from Tarzan movies; for instance, in the rainforest you will find lush green vegetation, exotic animals, restless natives, and usually a few white men up to no good. But beyond those stereotypes, what are the real rainforest facts? What is the status of the world's rainforests, and why is it important to preserve them? Here's the first rainforest fact: Rainforests are the oldest ecosystems on earth - they have been evolving for 70-100 million years. The largest rainforest in the world is the Amazonrainforest in South America, which covers an area about two-thirds the size of the continental United States. To date, more than a quarter of a million[..]
Crude Oil Exports And Imports
In January 2010, the prices for Crude oil and gasoline fell. Crude oil was sold at $77.74 per barrel. China has become the world's largest oil consuming country followed by the United States of America. The other major oil consuming countries are India, Japan, Brazil, France, Mexico, etc. These countries consume nearly 2.1 million barrels to 20.7 million barrels per day. Those counties, which are not into oil production or those, which are unable to meet the domestic needs require Crude oil imports. The oil demand in future is likely to increase due to the transportation sector and numerous other industries. In the year 2009, the percentage of Crude oil imports played a significant role[..]

Argentina's Downfall: Bread and Circuses ......
A short while ago the election of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner elevated her to the presidency of Argentina. Despite the overwhelming result that swept the first elected woman into office following her husband’s term as president, the country remains at a political crossroads. The politics and economics and self-interest of Argentina are hedged between leftist president Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and George Bush. More evenly dispersed wealth and prosperity for Argentina does not have to be elusive. The country is rich in resources and there exists substantial demand for its goods. However, increased and more equal education seems indicated and overdue. A general pause by the country as[..]
Ideology Without Rational Restraint Corrupts...
Striving for the ideals in life has raised the human animal from cave-dwelling to lives of plenty, ease and culture, however - should there not be reasoned control on penalizing excesses? When automobile gasoline prices rise to levels of $3 and $4 a gallon, the pain and outcry resounds across the nation. Yet, the elite of our congressional leaders, currently the liberal Democrats, force us to fuel our cars and heat our homes by being beholden to foreign dictators: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela - paying out $400 million dollars a day - and with a going-bankrupt treasury - this despite our country having immense oil resources. Where is common sense? For over 30 years, environmentalists in[..]

Did a Chinese Nuclear Submarine Sink?
Have the Chinese recently experienced a terrible military disaster in their navy? At one time the Chinese Navy had bought a number of nuclear submarines and old cold war technology from Russia. Today, one of their nuclear submarines is missing, and it appears that the Chinese Navy wants to save face, and doesn't want to tell the world that it sank, killing all aboard. It's too bad that the Chinese Navy has submarines that are so old that they cannot function properly, and are a danger to their naval cruise and humans operate inside. Some military analysts that we've talked to in Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Russia have ALL told us that naval sailors in the Chinese Sea[..]
Mohamed Muruli - Uganda's Commonwealth Games'...
Born in Kichwamba in Kabarole, Uganda on July 14, 1947, 5'7" tall Mohamed (Muhammad) Muruli remains among the most outstanding and respected of Ugandan boxers. At the African Amateur Boxing Championships, held in Lusaka in Zambia in June 1968, Muruli ably displayed international promise, though in the finals he fell to legendary Kenyan Philip Waruinge of Kenya in the finals of the lightweight division; and therefore settled for the silver medal. Waruinge had also won gold in the Africa Boxing Championships held in Brazzaville in Congo in 1965. Among Waruinge's other achievements were fighting for Kenya at three Olympic Games (1964, 1968, and 1972), the later in which he won bronze and[..]

Taking Drugs Abroad and Travel Insurance
Getting involved with illegal drugs when travelling overseas is not only highly risky, but a potential life-wrecker and anything but a win-win situation. No amount of money in return for carrying drugs is worth the risk. Many people do not realise that travel insurance is unlikely to cover any claims related to illegal behaviour or excessive intoxication. Some travellers believe they can safely transport 'soft drugs' for recreational use on holiday. However, many substances considered soft drugs at home are not viewed as such in other countries - and again travel insurance is unlikely to pick up the tab if things go wrong (depending on the circumstances). Intoxication due to drugs and/or[..]
You probably already know all the big travel destinations. Everyone knows Paris, for example, or Tokyo, or Hawaii. These places are well worth visiting, and they always will be. But when planning travel, we tend to forget that the world is always changing. Many of the old standbys are still great, but there are also plenty of up-and-coming travel destinations that are only starting to gain recognition. And the best thing about these places? If you go now, you won't have to worry about being swamped by countless other tourists who, sooner or later, will be arriving in droves. Here are a few places to visit now, before everyone starts going. Marseille, France: Everyone loves Paris, but[..]
Electric Textiles and Nanotechnology - The...
During the late 1800's, the world was gifted with an inventor who was keen at creating rather unusual clothes. It was during this time that the man named George Scott has been delivering to the skeptical world apparel that was integrated with electromagnetic mechanisms. Unfortunately for him though, people branded him some sort of a quack and shooed his inventions away from the conventional. He had advertised undergarments that supposedly promote blood circulation thereby stimulating organic action. This systemic organic flow, as he asserted, assists good digestion. Though he finds ally with other scientific men, he had not won the favor of the noblemen and rest of the community. Two[..]

Negro League Baseball and Its Latin Connection
As the 2010 Major League Baseball season begins the declining number of African-Americans in professional baseball again becomes a topic for discussion. Basketball and football has become the sport of choice for many black athletes instead of the game many still consider the "National Pastime". The topic got additional attention recently with the reported comments of Los Angeles Angel centerfielder Torii Hunter. Hunter, an African-American, in referring to Latin American players reportedly said, "People see dark faces out there, and the perception is that they are African-American. They are not us. They are imposters." Hunter later admitted using the word "imposter" was a wrong choice.[..]
International E-Discovery Compliance - Privacy...
The United States is, well, different. In America, we play football, other countries they play soccer (which they call football). Soccer for much of the world is more than just a game. Fanaticism over the sport is feverish, even hysterical. Here, professional soccer leagues struggle for audiences. While the rest of the world thinks it a bit barbaric, Americans have stuck steadfast with obscure measurements that the rest of the world long eschewed. We measure in feet and inches while they measure in centimeters and meters. We do things differently in the United States. There's nothing wrong with that. But when it comes to the law, it's important to know that the principle applies there as[..]
Car DVD Player Mysteries - What is ISDB-T?
Today's modern car DVD players are versatile machines. Not only do many come with a wide array of features (GPS navigation, the ability to receive analog TV signals, several different kinds of audio file decoding capabilities etc.) but they also can be used in many parts of the world, each with its own method of sending and receiving digital broadcast signals. Answering the question "Car DVD player mysteries: What is ISDB-T?" might be something worth looking at when trying to figure out how a car DVD player works. For starters, every car DVD player works to handle incoming broadcast signals for radio, television or other information in certain ways. One of the things the player has to do[..]

Rafael Solano, his back bent, his shoulders crushed by an invisible weight, sat on a boulder in the dry river bed. He lifted his head up slowly. It weighed a ton. He spoke in a low voice, his words almost incomprehensible. He mumbled again to his two friends. "I quit." They stopped gathering pebbles and looked at him. "I can't go on. I don't believe in it anymore." The sweat glistened on his brow. The brilliant sun had parched his face to a network of fine blood vessels. Dark shadows outlined his eyes. He held up a pebble in his hand. "The next one will be a million" He threw the pebble down. It bounced off another stone and lay shining in the sunlight. The year was 1942; the country,[..]
Cheap Flights to Curacao
Vacation is that time of the year when we take that much needed break from work, school and life. Many people opt to go to various countries overseas. This will enable them to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of life. One popular destination is Curacao and this article will focus on the ways to get cheap flights to this vacation hot spot. Curacao is located in the Caribbean and it is one out of five islands of the Netherland Antilles. It is often known as one of the ABC islands, sharing the name with Aruba and Bonaire. The island is located 40 miles off the coast of Venezuela and the land mass can be seen clearly from the island on a clear day. 15,000 people live on the[..]
Is Utopia Just a Theory?
Thomas More wrote about Utopian society; in fact he invented the term. In a Utopia everything would be perfect; the government, the society, politics. It has also been called Shangri-la. It's imaginary and undoubtedly will stay that way. People just aren't wired for perfection. We are made to be fallible and we are. In Utopia the citizens live a perfect life in a perfect world. The Marxists attempted to found a Utopia. Based on the work of Engels and Marx, they argued that capitalism is exploitive. They advocated the "collective" where everyone worked for the good of all. Of course, they also advocated social revolution and taking of personal property. Supposedly taking what you have[..]
Foreign Crisis History Case Studies - Book Review
Often, the American people are oblivious to the incredible foreign crisis that are constantly going on around the world. Right now for instance, we have a crisis in Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, and a good part of Central America. These things will very much affect the United States in the future. Mexico is also on the verge of economic and political collapse, and we can't even imagine what will happen, if it takes place. There is a crisis going on right now in Yemen with Saudi Arabia, and the Chinese wish to have their disputed territories annexed back into China, as well as taking back Taiwan and other areas. It seems like there is always a crisis going on in Africa, and we have all[..]
Origins and History of the Spanish Language
anish language began when Southwestern Europe's first settlers, the Iberians of Libya, got together the Celts, the nomadic Aryan tribes who migrated from the north. Together they formed the Celtiberian race and spoke a form of Celtic. At that time Spain was known as the Iberian Peninsula. The Phoenicians of Lebanon followed. These great pioneers of peaceful and productive civilization founded Cadiz and other trading posts along the Mediterranean coast. They left a profoundly rich legacy including the invention of the alphabet. Next came the Greeks. They founded several towns before the Phoenicians decided to claim possession of the peninsula and called for help from Carthage. But Rome[..]
Barack Obama's Connections to Socialism,...
There's no need for a long introduction…this article will "speak" for itself. The following is a list of Barack Obama's connections to socialism, communism, Marxism, racial divisiveness, and political corruption. If you can ignore this and still support the man who refuses to disclose much of his past, then you should not be voting in November. The Early Mentors and Influences Barack Hussein Obama Sr. – Barack's father was an African socialist. While he was not with his son for much of Barack Jr.'s childhood, they did keep in touch through routine correspondence according to the memoir, Dreams From My Father. Socialist Domino Affect in South America;...
Remember when the Soviet Union was trying to communize all of Asia? Do you recall 'the Domino Effect' theory and how it shaped US policy around the world Well, not long ago an acquaintance mentioned to me that there were problems brewing in Ecuador, and he was concerned it was turning socialist, and made light of the fact that the socialist domino effect was happening. Well, there is no doubt that Hugo, Evo, and good old US educated socialist Rafael have played to the ignorant mindless masses. Of course, now their plans are failing or starting to unravel and they turn and blame the west. Typical, Machiavellian tactics, "pick an enemy to build your team" and so the "blue-eyed devils did[..]

Heavy Oil - What is It?
The simplest explanation for the question is this: Heavy Oil is any type of unrefined crude oil which is just too thick (viscous) to flow easily. In order to make the heavy oil flow, a type of thinner or "diluent" is used to reduce the viscosity (thickness) and allow the now diluted oil to flow through a pipeline to an oil refinery. Heavy oil deposits are found in over 30 countries around the world with the largest deposit being found near Orinoco, Venezuela. Canada also has large deposits in North Eastern Alberta around the booming small city of Fort McMurray. The exploitation of this key energy supply called variously Energy Sands, Oil Sands, or Tar Sands has generated a lot of[..]

Brown Pelican - Ecological Success Story
The brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) has many claims to fame. It is the national bird of Turks and Caicos Islands, the state bird of Louisiana, an expert diver, and an ecological success story. It battled back from near extinction in the United States. During the early 1900's brown pelicans could be found from along the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf of Mexico coasts - from California to Chile and from Maryland to Venezuela. However, by the 1960's this bird had disappeared from Louisiana, the pelican state and from most of the coastal areas of the USA. The main cause of this decline was the pesticide DDT. The DDT was carried into the coastal waters from farm lands and then entered the[..]
To understand the constant fluctuations of heating oil prices where you live, it's important to understand what factors influence the price of heating oil where you live. The Source of Heating Oil Heating oil comes from sources both inside and outside the United States. Regardless of where it comes from, heating needs to be refined by refineries within the United States. The U.S. imports most of its oil from the Virgin Islands, Canada and Venezuela. From the refineries to our homes the oil takes an interesting trip through pipelines, barges, trucks, and even by train in some cases. Refineries must balance what type of product they produce based on season, because they can't produce[..]
A Brief Introduction to the Amazon Rainforest
An old Indian legend says God was not yet done with the Amazon when man showed up. So, the story goes, God decided to leave, expecting man not to last very long, when He would return to finish his work. Today, over 20 million people live in this unfinished work that stretches from the Andes in the west to the Atlantic in the east, from Guyana Plateau to the north from the Brazilian savannah to the south. It’s size is baffling, containing: - 5% of the world’s land. - 20% of global fresh water reserves. - 1/3 of the world’s forests. - 40% of South America. - 60% of Brazil. - 0.4% of the global population. Despite being one large continuous forest, the Amazon is highly differentiated[..]

The Kyrgyzstan Government was recently over thrown as well. I tell you it must be Human Protest Season. Now then, it's not just overseas we see these protests, there are protests going on in our own backyard in South America - in Venezuela for instance. Once again, human protest season is in! Mastering the moves of the chess pieces is only a small part of the game. Children as young as five have the cognitive development, the eye-hand coordination and the dexterity to be able to move the six different pieces around the chess board properly. However, becoming skilled at the strategies for winning at chess requires a great deal more. Certainly, the first capabilities tested are the abilities to concentrate and analyze. Any lapse in concentration or failure to correctly analyze the situation on the chess board will most likely result in a loss. All chess players experience losses, even the grandmasters of the game, so players also learn the consequences of their decisions, and[..]

It faced a serious energy crisis in the years immediately following the Arab Oil Embargo and imported about 85% of its crude oil consumption in the 1970s. In the subsequent years, with the Pró-Álcohol policy to increase domestic ethanol production, the country has become the second largest producer and the largest exporter of ethanol in the world. In 2006 it produced 16.3 billion litres which represents 33.3% of the world's total ethanol production and 42% of the world's ethanol used as fuel. With[..]

Christmas Traditions Around the World – With...
Christmas season is something that is enjoyed in almost all parts of the world and each country has their own set of traditions; some are very similar while others are unique. Then there are some that are downright strange. Aside from the country and culture specific traditions, there is also the set of family or personal traditions. A really different Christmas tradition is a very Old Norwegian one. It was an old belief that on the eve of Christmas witches and bad spirits would come about the towns looking for brooms on which to ride. So all the villagers would hide their brooms where they believed they couldn’t be found. Today’s modern age also sees vestiges of this custom. The men[..]
